The good stuff

What really clicked was how easy it is to switch identities. You click the icon, pick a country - US, Germany, Japan - and suddenly your IP is somewhere else. I didn’t even have to tweak settings. The little bar at the bottom shows which identity you're using, and it updates instantly. That’s way better than some other tools where you’re guessing if it actually worked. And it auto-deletes cookies when you change identities - smart move. I once forgot to clear them after logging into a site, and this reminded me. Small thing, but I appreciated it. The not-so-good

It’s only for Firefox, which is a big limitation if you’re stuck on Chrome. I tried the Chrome version, but it’s not as polished - less stable, slower. And honestly, the customization options are barebones. If you want to mess with encryption levels or choose specific exit nodes, forget it. It’s all set in stone. Also, no real way to see server locations or performance stats. You’re trusting it works, which is fine for casual use, but not great if you’re security-conscious. And yeah, it’s free, but the “premium” version exists - probably for things like ad blocking or faster speeds, though I haven’t tested it.

Bottom line

If you’re on Firefox and just want to hide your IP quickly - say, for privacy, bypassing regional blocks, or testing websites - anonymoX - Download for Windows is solid. It’s lightweight, reliable, and does what it says. But don’t expect features beyond the basics. If you need more control or cross-browser support, look elsewhere. For basic anonymous browsing? Worth the download. Free and functional - that’s a win.
