The good stuff

The design is clean and intentional. The big numbers are easy to read across the room - no squinting needed. I set it to landscape mode on my nightstand, and it’s basically become my bedside alarm clock without needing to touch the device. The ability to toggle between 12-hour and 24-hour formats is nice, especially when I’m working late and want military time. Click once on the clock to show seconds - that tiny detail actually made me notice how much I care about precision in small moments. Brightness control is a welcome touch too, so it doesn’t blind you in the dark. It’s not flashy, but it works exactly as advertised.

The not-so-good

And yeah, the battery drain is real. My iPhone 11 drops about 15 percent an hour when Fliqlo runs full-screen with auto-lock disabled. That’s not great if you’re trying to keep your phone charged during a workday. You can’t use it as a widget or lockscreen - which means you have to keep the phone awake and visible. No background mode, no screen saver integration. If you're someone who likes apps that blend into the system, this one feels isolated. Also, there’s no way to schedule it to turn off after a certain time. So unless you manually exit it, your phone stays on all night. Not ideal.

Bottom line

If you’re looking for a stylish, no-frills vintage flip clock for iPhone that you can leave running on your desk or nightstand, Fliqlo delivers. It’s free, it’s simple, and it’s oddly satisfying. But only if you don’t mind the battery cost and don’t need it to run quietly in the background. For people who want a visual reminder of time without distractions, it’s worth a download.
