The good stuff

The query editor is clean and fast. I love how it highlights syntax, autocompletes table names, and lets me save queries in a quick list. One time, I was debugging a slow import script and had to run the same few lines over and over. Being able to stash them in a saved query folder made it way less annoying. Also, the SSH tunneling feature is a big win if you’re connecting to a remote server. No need to mess with terminal ports or config files-you just plug in your SSH key and go. And yeah, it handles .sql exports and imports like a champ, even with large files. The UI might be old-school, but it doesn’t get in the way.

The not-so-good

It hasn’t seen a real update in a while, so it feels a bit dated. Some folks complain about it not working well with newer versions of macOS, especially if you’re on Apple Silicon. I haven’t had major crashes, but there are occasional quirks-like the connection list sometimes not updating until you restart. And honestly? It’s not really built for teams. No collaboration features, no version control for schema changes. If you’re working with others, you’ll want something more modern. Also, since it’s open-source and maintained by volunteers, don’t expect a fancy help center or rapid bug fixes. You’re basically on your own if something breaks.
